The APC offers emergency shelter for women and their children in need of temporary assistance. It is a secure place into which we welcome women from all walks of life, regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or lifestyle.
For many women, our shelter will be their first experience with community living and it can be nerve racking not knowing what to expect. Our goal is to make you not only safe, but comfortable and secure.
Our facility includes rooms for single women as well as women with children. Common areas include a kitchen, living room, dining room, children’s play room, and bathrooms. A fenced backyard provides outdoor privacy and a place for kids to play.
You will have a Case Manager assigned to you during your stay to help you reach your goals. Your case manager will help you with referrals and assistance in finding housing, employment, financial aid, childcare, health care and transportation.
For victims of a current domestic violence/sexual assault situation, a sheriff, local law enforcement officer, or human service agent must accompany an individual after 8 p.m. We cannot open the doors to anyone without a law enforcement escort after 8 pm. If you do not have an officer or agent with you, we will call one for you when you arrive.
